Board of Directors
The Westgate Cabana Club is managed and run by a group of dedicated volunteers. There are eight distinct positions on the Board of Directors (“Board”). Each September, members elect nominees to these Board positions to serve for the subsequent Club season. Elected Board members serve a term of one year, and may serve up to three years consecutively on the Board.
In exchange for their service, Board and Committee members receive a free membership and a discount on swim lessons, parties, and guest pass punch cards. The transition from the previous Board to the new Board generally occurs in September.
Serving on the Board is an opportunity to be more involved in the pool community while working with fellow members who are committed to making the Westgate Cabana Club the best it can be. It is also a great place to learn and apply new skills and provide leadership and mentoring to youth (lifeguards, swim instructors and interns).
Nomination Process
In September, the current Board will nominate the Board of Directors for the next season.
Once the nominations are announced, interested members will have 7 days to email [email protected] to add their name to the ballot. Afterward, we will provide an online form they can use to solicit support from other members. They will then have 2 weeks to collect at least 10 names to secure their place on the ballot.
- All members are eligible to be nominated for a Board of Directors position, including incumbents.
- We encourage members to focus on “open” positions rather than those where incumbents are continuing.
Election Process
- We will send an email to members with a link to an online ballot.
- Members will have 7 days to vote.
- The Board may appoint unfilled positions and other volunteer positions as needed to support management of the club.
