Gatewatch is a long-standing tradition at the Westgate Cabana Club, whereby members volunteer to greet and check in members at the gatewatch desk.  Gatewatch promotes the safety and security of our pool by ensuring that only members and their guests enter the facility. This helps keep our costs low for members each season, otherwise we would need to pay a staff member to perform this work.

  • Overview

    • A Gatewatch deposit of $100 is required as part of the membership fee
    • The deposit will be refunded by November 1st when all shifts have been completed
    • Gatewatch is mandatory and each family must complete 3 full shifts or a combination of full and half shifts throughout the season.
    • Each shift is approximately 2-3 hours in length.
    • All instructions and materials needed to perform the gatewatch duties are located at the gatewatch desk.

  • Duties

    • Verify membership of individuals entering the pool by searching for their last name in the Member Splash Front Desk
    • Greet members and remind them about our parking restrictions
    • Ensure members use credits to check in their guests and guests complete the online check-in/ liability form
    • Sell popsicles using Member Splash Point of Sales (POS)
    • Help members and guests find answers to their questions or information about the club
    • Enforce pool rules as needed
    • Assist lifeguard or members as needed

  • Reservations

    • Login to your account and navigate to Reservations=> Make Reservations
    • Select Gatewatch facility group
    • Navigate to an available date with open shifts
    • Select your desired shift
    • Select Member who will perform the shift
    • Select email(s) to receive a confirmation and reminder 1 day prior (optional)
    • Select Book It
    • Your gatewatch shift will now show up under Reservations=>My Reservations
